One night, Flo Magdalena and her five-year-old granddaughter, Sabina, created a bedtime story about a little girl named Gloria and her first encounter with a mermaid named Cynthia. This was Cynthia’s first encounter with a human, too. By allowing Gloria to see her, Cynthia breaks the first law of her people.
What happens between Gloria and Cynthia is very special and changes the way they each think about trusting someone from a different world. Flo and Sabina share this story with you, along with the very special Light Magnificent—a brilliant light brought by another character, the wise starfish.
The Light Magnificent touches and opens the hearts of Cynthia, Gloria, and Gloria’s mother and sister. When their hearts are open, they truly see and trust one another, and a new promise is made between humans and the Mer people.
